Installation of the Deployment Manager

Postby SteveGTR » Wed Oct 02, 2013 4:40 pm

We are excited to try out the starter edition of your Deployment Manager. As the server requires Windows Server 2008+ or Windows 7 Professional, we are looking for a place to install it that might or might not be the software's permanent home.

My question is:

Is there are problem installing the deployment manager on a server that will also be a target? For instance, installing deployment manager on a server that also hosts our development web server.

Thanks :)

That scenario should work fine. We have a similar setup that works very well. We have our DM server installed on a Windows 7 development box, which also has the DM agent running. So a single machine can host the DM server and can act as a target. We have two servers that are deployment targets only: a TEST server and a PROD server.

Excellent --- we are also looking at setting up a Windows 7 box as the deployment manager so you answered two questions in one.

Thanks again :D
