Hello, I'm a great fan of SQL Compare but have run into a problem with our new SQL Server 2012 database server. I am using SQL Compare 8.50.12.20.

When I try to run a comparison it aborts at the 'Registering data sources' step when attempting to connect to the database on SQL Server 2012. The warning reads:

ExecuteReader: CommandText property has not been initialized

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Mick

  • SQL Compare 8 doesn't support SQL Server 2012. If you download the latest version from our website (or go to 'check for updates' in the tool), you can download v10, which will connect successfully to SQL Server 2012. If you purchased support and upgrades, you get this for free, otherwise please contact sales@red-gate.com for upgrade information.

I hope this answers your question.
