SSMS hangs when I try to activate

Postby moo » Thu Sep 12, 2013 1:28 pm

I'm trying to activate our copy of SQL Source Control.

When I go to SQL Server Management Studio -> Tools -> SQL Source Control and click on Activate this Copy or Help -> Enter Serial Number, Management Studio hangs and I have to kill the process through Task Manager.

This only happens on one of our machines; it works as expected on another machine. SQL Source Control seemed to be working as a trial version previously. I've tried reinstalling SQL Source Control and SSMS but it's not made a difference.

Is there any other way to activate this?

Just to follow up; I believe this issue was caused by trying to activate using a local account on a machine that's a member of a domain. This /shouldn't/ cause a problem, but may be useful if anyone else runs into it.
