While laying out SQL in a SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 window today, SSMS completely hung. The script I tried to lay out was missing a closing quote. It looked like this generic SQL:
UPDATE table SET Column1 = '2013-03-06 5:00', Column2 = '2013-03-06 5:00 WHERE ID = 123
I hit Ctrl+K, Ctrl+Y and the window hung with the "Reformatting Keywords..." dialog on top. I can click the Cancel button, but nothing happens. SSMS does not respond in any way, but Windows doesn't show it as "Not Responding". I have to end task to close it.
