Unmanaged Memory in Silverlight

Postby Ezypay » Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:01 am

Hi we have purchased Red-gate developer bundle and are trying to track memory leaks in our Silverlight 4 application. We've managed to get rid of most of the memory leaks in the managed code but that seems to be peanuts in comparison with the unmanaged memory usage. so for e.g. after running the application and navigating here and there between some heavy screens (lots of styling, controls etc) the total memory usage is 391 MB while unmanaged memory shows to be 364 MB out of it

All our code is managed so currently I don't have a clue to where the issue is and ANTS memory profiler doesnot provide any details of unmanaged memory usage. We are using Silverlight 4 + Prism + MEF (Instance mode = nonshared) + Navigation + Telerik (list. charts, date picker, scheduler etc) + lots of styling. Any useful suggessions will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have been using UMHD for the unmanaged part.
