Can DM run migration scripts defined in SQL Source Control?

Postby swinghouse » Fri Apr 05, 2013 9:56 am

This is a bit related to http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/vi ... =migration but I decided to start a new topic to focus on my recent discovery.

I've added some migration scripts via the migration script feature in SQL Source Control and expected Deployment Manager to execute them on deployment, but it seems to ignore these scripts.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

We're running:
- Deployment Manager v. 1.1.4.3

- TeamCity Plugin v. 1.0.0.1039

Database upgrade method: static.

Sorry- not yet- this is of course something we'll ultimately support but not for a month or two yet.

Is this issue resolved? Do DM support migration scripts? If so, how can i find documentation or how to integrate migration scripts with TeamCity pluggin / DM packages?

Thanks for support!

We’ve already started working on a new migration script feature for SQL Source Control. An early access build is already available and you can find out more about it here: http://documentation.red-gate.com/display/MV2
We’re also planning to release a beta in the coming few weeks that will have this new feature integrated in SQL Compare and Deployment Manager for dynamic upgrades.
The work for static upgrades that supports migrations will not be available until late November at the earliest.

Hi,

We're currently working on supporting Migrations v2 inside Deployment Manager, using the dynamic upgrade feature. I'll post back here in the next couple of weeks when the feature is released.
