Restore from various backup formats

Postby Nick McNair » Tue Aug 23, 2011 2:53 pm

The literature declares that SQL VS can be used to 'restore a native SQL Server, SQL Backup Pro or SQL HyperBac backup'. Is it safe to assume that SQL VS can use SQL Server compressed backups?

Has anybody used SQL Server compressed backups with SQL VS?

Thanks.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your post. It should work with native compressed backups, but there's a bug at the moment where it doesn't.

This will hopefully be fixed for the next release of the Hyperbac Components, which are due out I believe in a couple of weeks all being well.
