It's something we'll consider, especially if we get more requests.

It seems to be increasingly popular, as is Mercurial.

I'll join in on the request for Git

We are considering it as a possible solution, but currently we work with Git as our source control
a plug in for Git is a must for us

Is there an estimated release date for GIT support? (even on beta). Thank you.

We're looking at the next couple of weeks for a beta, all going well. the support we're adding allows command lines to be specified for each of the source control actions, which means that *any* source control system will be configurable, in theory.

Thank you, that was quick. Is the showing of history in ssms with git expected to be added later? Or is that an inherent limitation in git support.

I'm also interested to know if the showing of history in ssms with git will be implemented. Please does anyone know ?

We haven't prioritized this on our backlog just yet. Although GIT is increasing in popularity, it has quite a small share of the market. Once adoption has increased, and we see more demand, we'll add the feature.
