SQLRefactor - SMART RENAME - Table with SchemaBound View

Postby pkayley » Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:58 pm

I've not had much cause to use SMART Rename feature within my Toolbelt until now - but what a brilliant utility this is

I did encounter one problem however - when trying to rename a table which was used in a View with SCHEMABINDING.

This prevented the table from being renamed and meant that the transaction rolledbac.

I was Simply able to overcome this by scripting & dropping the offending view -

But as an enhancement it may be worthwhile including in the WARNINGS TAB any SCHEMA Bound Views - on the 2nd page of the WiZARD.

Thanks for another time-saving goody from Redgate

Glad you found the way around the problem, and I'll certainly add a request as per your description. Thanks for letting us know!
