Problem with Config folder when SQL DG Installed on D: drive

Postby mgaert » Mon Sep 22, 2008 6:18 pm

I recently re-imaged my machine and installed SQL DG on D:. When I open projects created from a SQL DG installed on C:, I get a lot of problems like: File Missing. File 'C:\\Program Files\\Red Gate\\SQL Data Generator 1\\Config\\NamesFirst.txt' is missing.

Is there a way to tell the program where to find these files? They're all there on D:\\Program Files\\Red Gate\\SQL Data Generator 1\\Config. The alternative I guess is to put these files on the C: drive.

Thanks.

One further note. If I open the project file as XML, I could go through it and change all those paths, but I'd rather not.

Thanks.

We currently have no way in SQL Data Generator to specify that the location of the generators have changed. I have logged this as a feature request in our tracking system and it will be considered for a future release.

In the meantime, may I suggest you run a quick find/replace in Notepad on the project files in question?
