SQL Doc FileStream will not open Win32 devices

Postby jraddock » Mon Aug 11, 2008 10:21 pm

When using SQL Doc to generate docs for a DB I get:

FileStream will nto open Win32 devices such as disk partitions and tape drives. Avoid use of "\\\\.\\" in the path.

Any ideas?

Don't use schema name aux.

I figured out what the problem is. I have a schema called 'aux'.

Whenever items from the aux schema are included, this error is thrown.

I have 3 schemas,

dbo
aux
reports

dbo and reports work fine, however aux throws errors. beware of the aux.

Thank you for investigating further.

It seems anything named aux. in Windows is reserved and can not be created.

We fixed this problem in SQL Doc 2 which has now been released.
