Roadmap support for SQL Server 2008

Postby le001ya » Fri Aug 31, 2007 5:45 pm

It is essential that our application support SQL Server 2008 when Microsoft release it in Feb 2008. What is red-gate's roadmap for the next SQL Packager?

Sorry, we don't have a fixed roadmap yet, but we will definitely endeavour to roll out SQL Server 2008-compatible versions of our SQL tools following the Katmai release. We are already checking some of our current tools against early CTPs to assess the amount of work necessary.

Is there any news on an estimated release date of a BETA for a Packager which will work with SQL 2008?

We have no current plans to release a Beta of SQL Packager prior to the full SQL-Server-2008-compatible version, which we hope will be ready shortly after the SQL Server 2008 RC. Microsoft's current RC target is Q2 2008, but of course this may slip.
